No, I moved to Germany many moons ago. Scott is an easy going person, you can visit him even if you don't own an Italian bike.
The 750 SFC, as ikonic as it may be, is not a comfortable bike to ride. You need to be over 6' tall, have long arms to reach over the tank and put up with a barely padded seat.  After 2008 the prices just went thru the ceiling, the link below reflects current asking prices.

Hondalav, how much do you ride your Laverda?  They are beautiful bikes, and I would be surprised if I ever found one that I could afford, but I have been under the impression that they are more practical in the maintenance departement, than a 1970's Ducatti...

I ride the Laverda between 3000-6000k's a year, and have so for the last 17 years. Once they are set up properly and the bodges of one or more DPO's are taken care of you just ride them. Valve clearance needs to be checked every year or two, if on the tight side replacing shims means removal of cams, but nothing as dramatic and expensive as a Ducati Bevel. All parts are readily available, at least for the 180 degree crank triples and twins and again not in the Ducati price range. As the Laverda company chose Bosch electrics, Nippon Denso switchgear and instruments, Brembo brakes and put on a thicker layer of paint and chrome than the rest of the Italian competion at the time, the bikes have a slightly better build quality. I know that in North America the market is very thin and bikes fetch big money if and when they become available.

One word of caution! The classic bikes like 350, 500, 750, 1000 and 1200 were manufactured in the town of Breganze, Italy.
The more modern looking 650, 668, 750S and 750 Formula were made in the town of Zane, Italy and are ticking time bombs.
Engines are real crap!

1991-1993 GSX1100G.
They never came in the silver that my '92 currently is. All of the write ups say that they are heavy and hard to steer but they really are not bad for
what they are... a frightenly fast cruise missile that gets up to 42 mpg at 10-20 over posted speed suggestion signs. I have two of these.  ;)
100HP and 82 pounds of torque. They have the power feel of an RC-51 or my Aprilia Mille but weigh about 150 pounds more.
Just blink at the throttle and you are going 20 mph faster.  ;D

It's actually a Volkscycle.  One of the many bikes that sprang up around the 70's gas crisis.  Unlike the name might suggest, it's a Japanese brand.  Great bike which I was given by the original owner back in '08 and now have about 7000 miles on it.  One tough bike.

My dad bought it a few years ago when he was living in BC.  He then decided to move to Europe, and didn't care to take the time to sell it.  So just trailered it to Oregon and I took it customs and DMV for a pretty simple importing and title change.

If you want one, just find a seller, not a dealer in BC and buy from them, importing from there is simple.

Have a pic somewhere, I sold the Raleigh on eBay in a matter of hours for $450, should have asked more! I paid $300 and didn't realize the value, it went to a collector in San Francisco.

DMV and customs does a VIN check and makes sure the title is legitimate.  There is a bit of paperwork, but it didn't cost me anymore then a title change.  Customs didn't charge anything in my case.

It can be hard to predict which bicycled will be worth a lot as they get older.  People are asking crazy amounts for older bikes here in Portland.  Specially if the seller has a big red beard.  ;)

Thanks. I have a pair of them that were non-running basket cases when I found them.
Strangely enough, they both were found within a month of each other and within 10 miles of my house!  :o
The '80 bike was red when I found it. Now, I have almost twins...

Very tidy bikes Eric, If i could find a nice low mileage 1983 GS1100es in blue and white i would be all over it, great bikes for long trips, reliable and quick.... ;)  Something like this one... Or maybe the 2nd one with some modern upgrades... ;)

I just need to stab the 69.5mm over-sized pistons into the cylinder, assemble the cylinder head, attach carbs,
polish the pipes/replace the missing baffles and go basically.
