Gosh...this original post goes back to December of 2007 when I was doing my first 750. As I read my first post there it really shows how much of a "newbie" I was...:)  And still learning...

I read this thread yesterday and thought, What? Johnie doesn't know what kind of screws to use??!   Then looked back and saw it was from 7 years ago.

+1 -  SS socket head screws.  I get em locally for 30 cents ea.

I am going to start an "oil"-like discussion by saying, do not use the copper antisieze paste. It does ugly things with aluminum and stainless steel. Use the standard silver (aluminum/zinc based) antisieze paste. You want to stop the dissimilar metal process, not accelerate it.

Or Tef-Gel, a PTFE antisieze paste used on boats to prevent the galvanic corrosion of aluminum and stainless steel.

+100  Only use copper at the exhaust or on the spark plugs, nowhere else. Zinc or Aluminum paste only in other locations (like the cases)!
