Nice, go for it. A nice unmolested '81 750K sold near me for $1,680.00 last week (not me). Your picture looks every bit as nice or nicer. Good luck!  ;)

I say pass.  Since you are tight on space, why not wait for something you REALLY want? [CBX or Z1!]

Those DOHC 750s aren't pretty, or collectable imo. And I see no improvement over the SOHC 750.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Yeah after the ground breaking success of the original CB750 sohc from 1969-1978, Honda's complete turn around in 1979 with the new dohc motor and a complete redesign of the bike didn't go over very well with customers and die hard fans of the original bike and the bike never sold very well. I see Stev-o and Lester are big first year dohc 750 fans also ::) Haha! I'll smoke it over real good this weekend, take some pics and see what type of $$ he's talking about and go from there. With this bike it's the rarity of the near mint condition of it. Not so much a big fan of the styling either. Again I've not saw this bike in a while, but if my memory serves me right all it needs is to be cleaned and polished and you would think its back in the dealers showroom in 1979 8)

Yeah Stev-o the ultimate 70's Honda would be the 6 cylinder, 6 Carb beast the CBX ;) but ones that are near plug and play ready and need very little will cost you some duckies. Usually start at around $5000 and go up from there ??? And pretty much the Z 1's are the same way. Your where right place, right time and got deal on yours if I remember ;)

I was a fan of the dohc at the time, especially the F model.  The valves were a pain to adjust compared to the sohc but the adjustment held much longer, and the cover gasket was also a pain to get on fully  seated.  I would buy an F if the price was right(come on down MoMo!)...Larry

Ok here we go with a few pics of the 1979 CB750 dohc I was talking about. Owner wasn't there, but since we're neighbours he let me drop by and take a look at it. Neighbour bought it brand new and has taken care of it, that's easy to tell. Wasn't sure yesterday, but you see it's the Limited Edition 10th Anniversary model. It's a very nice original 34 year bike, but the #4 pipe has seen it's better day as you can see : and the left inner(no pic) as a eraser size rust through on bottom also) Damn those #2 pipes :D Pipes are the only negative to the bike, other than not being a sohc ;D The mileage is quite bit higher than I thought but still low for the age of bike. Seat is in excellent shape, owner just had it off charging the battery. The condition of the exhaust as lower my enthusiasm a few notches :-\( but would still interested if price is right(like Bob Barker would say) But that's how it always is, isn't it ::)
All opinions and thoughts are welcome
Thanks dhall

Your right a 67 Nova in background. SWEET!!!!!

Looks sharp but would always be the red headed step sister to your K0.

Forget the bike, get the Nova! What motor?

Actually, that's a really clean motorcycle, except for the exhaust. The first thing I would do, however, is remove that huge luggage rack and backrest, that's the biggest I've ever seen.

What's the mileage?

When will you know the price?

I like the looks of the C models.  The low seat would be nice for short rides.

Asheborro Honda has a blue 750C in their classic collection,  pretty nice.

Good luck with it.

Yeah Dog it is a very clean bike ;) To bad the original pipes aren't in the same shape as the rest of the bike :( those HM425 pipes look like those would be hard to round up. I agree that backrest needs to go ??? Check out last pic, 17941 miles. Owners said he would let me know, honestly don't think he is really in any hurry to sell it. If this was a sohc 750 on the other hand I would really be on him hard about selling it to me ;D

Really this isn't a bike I've got to have. OK tell myself again, this isn't a bike I've got to have. But it is a 70's Honda and when I run across one rather my favorite or not its hard for me to walk away from any of them that are in decent condition. And it's not like this bike is hundreds and hundreds of miles away, the damn thing is right across the street.

Good luck in your soul-searching...  ;) I hope he gives you a ridiculous low price that makes it worth it to buy, despite it not being your "dream" bike....
