Frame and engine numbers

I have recently bought  500 K1 1972 , the engine and frame do not match Frame no is CB5002------, the engine is CB500E2------, is this correct for the year? .

The engines were supplied separately from the frames, so they will never match exactly; should be within a few hundred numbers if it's a stock bike, though. Don't be so stingy with the S/Ns and we can tell you more.  ;D

The "E" in the engine # simply means "Engine" as far as anyone knows...

Acorrding to the info you gave us it is correct .

 But if you gave us more info, it may not be..

The frame is CB5002068--- and the engine is CB500E2156--- i was informed the bike was originally sold to Saudi Arabia and brought back to the UK in the 1990s .
