Where can you still buy a clutch lifter plate?
« on: December 02, 2013, 03:53:05 PM »
I just snapped my clutch lifter plate so I am looking for a new one but every single vendor seems to not have them anymore.

Do you guys know where you can still find them?

This is for a 1975 CB750

A new one? That might be a difficult task. But Ebay, for used. You might have to pony up for a complete basket.

EBay, our members, Bill Benton. Not available from Honda, used are fine and cheaper too.

Mec, what are you up to now??!! It's been kinda boring around here without your amazing projects!

MEC (smarter than me by a group) says can be repaired. I would think so but I've never seen it. Used sources like eBay best bet, still pricey.

Begs the question, do you understand why it broke? There are only 2 ways out of 4 that it can go. 50/50 chance of getting it right or breaking it.  MANY threads on this problem.

I've found that out after it broke and searching for an answer, second time around I will be sure to feel out if it's right before tightening it down

Is that the plate the four clutch springs go through?  I've broken two! Installing stiffer clutch springs and over tightening I guess it happened so dam easy!

Tighten or untighten the 4 screws in small increments to avoid breaking it. 1/4 turn crosswise will take time but without damage.
I have seen new on many sites for not that much money. It costed not much less 30 years ago when I broke one.
