leaking cylinder head cb400f
« on: December 15, 2013, 04:04:59 PM »
OK so I've got a slight leak from the cylinder head of my Honda CB400f no big deal. However i do need to rectify the problem soon, so what i need to know is can i remove and strip the top end down including the barrels whilst the engine is in situ in the frame or does it have to be removed from the frame and stripped on the bench! Because if I'm going to do this then i will want to overhall the hole of the top end including the cam chain, camchain guide and blade etc please advise Richard :)

Thanks Larry. so i take it theres plenty of clearance for the barrels to be removed whilst the engine is in the frame?

Yes,,  done it many times. Mostly just need to remove the coils, carbs, air chamber, exhaust....  Ask plenty of questions as there is a  wealth of knowledge here...Larry
