CB 750 K0 fuel tank chrom moulding trim

Can you tell since when the chrom moulding trim with black stripe was used?

I thought from K1 unwards but I find a lot of pictures of K0´s  with that chrom/blck/chrom rim.

My thought is for a long time the K1 trim was available and K0 was not, a lot of guys did what they had to do. Plain trim is considered correct for a K0 if you are so inclined. Especially an early one like yours. Some guys used door edge trim for a car with good results.

I see Yamiya has plain K0 trim for $65.

I will have a spare fuel tank painted and then will buy fix the correct trim.

Both types of trim show up on ebay from time to time.  I've used the stuff from Yamiya - it's good.

The all chrome tank trim is correct for your K0. The chrome w/black stripe tank trim begins with the introduction of the K1. The part number change was documented by Honda in their parts books. Note the K1 frame number in this 12/71 dated example:

You can use morris mascot roof chrome trims or similar, they are 12 mm wide and are very cheap. Or this

which is not chrome but silver!
