Hi! I really should introduce myself; I've been lurking here long enough to feel as if I know some of you

First:
THANKS for the many clear and knowledgeable posts! The archives have carried me far along, and the posters here are the friendliest and most helpful I've encountered.
I picked up a 1977 CB750K a few years back; however, I didn't do anything with it (other than buying parts) until I got the bug last spring. This summer, I've been working like a maniac on it in the hope that I might get some riding in before cold weather.
My bike in pretty good condition. I've replaced/rebuilt much of the electro/mechanical items: clutch, brake master and slave cylinders ("dgs38" on ebay sells excellently machined slave pistons), frt/rear pads, regulator/rectifier, ignition & coils (Dyna 2000 & 2.2 ohm coils), new control cables, new 4-4 pipes from David Silver, newly chromed covers, cool (pirate) clock overlays from Carpy, and Keihin CR 29 carbs.
Compression is uneven. I plan to do a top and bottom end this winter.
I've got only two remaining issues (I hope) before I can do serious riding. The charging/battery system is faulty, and my carbs seem too rich (dry black carbon fouled plugs). I'm working through the charging system guide from Mike Nixon's Motorcycle Project, and then I will tackle the carbs which will need jetting changes to lean them out.
Thanks again for all the hard work that goes into this site!
