Simple things matter
« on: December 05, 2013, 04:07:17 AM »
I've just picked up my bike from boxes.
It's been there for the 3k service.

The clutch was rather stiff but after changing oil for a 10-40w semi and a flush of the cable with a mix of gas and oil it is almost (not quite ;)) butter now. Gears enter much easier including neutral.

Valve and points adjustment together with the right timing have changed the character of he bike, now she does ask for growling!

Front brake bleeding and some lever tinkering gives me more braking confidence even though is no where near modern standards.

Finally i put engine guards just in case. However  I find them a bit obstrusive for rear braking. I guess i'll have to adapt my right foot positioning.

All in all a much better safety and riding experience for 300 USD. That's what i call a good deal. Hopefully i might do the service myself next time.
