Lining Dunstall Tank.
« on: November 28, 2013, 06:53:26 am »
I'm planning on lining my Dunstall tank with the caswell stuff here soon.  My question is regarding the lip around the gas cap that is insterted in the tank.... Im concerned that I will not be able to get the drywall screws out after shaking them in the tank as well as the excess liner product.  Anybody been through this?  What was your solution.

750f tank has that recess lid thing which made it very hard to get out the nuts and bolts I used in the de-rusting process.  I got most of 'em with a magnet.  This will work even better with a fiberglass tank.  I'd drain the excess liner out the petcock hole?
If it works good, it looks good...

Thanks for the reply.. Magnet idea is a good one.   I think the petcock hole will be my only option.

use a length of chain instead of screws. easier to get out.

In the spirit of updating threads in conclusion.  I did the chain idea... It worked well.  If you are careful you can remove the fill spout making the job a lot easier.  Also because of the baffles inside the tank, it takes the entire kit to get the whole tank covered, so there is no excess.  Lessons learned from trial and error.
