Hi,

@Steve-o - I don't have the right wrench socket for the tricky #2 and #3 spark plugs, but so far I got 135psi off #1 and #4.
Stores are closed since so I'll have to cross my fingers and hope they are all roughly the same when I check it tomorrow.

@strynboen - Thanks again for your help, good sir.

I had #3 pod sitting crooked, there was a vacuum leak. I got it running but she struggle and appears to be running too rich, black smoke and bad throttle response (at least I hope that's what it is). #1 spark plug was a bit wet when I checked it, and #4 too.

Sorry, my stuff it always dark looking.

I should be receiving my carbtune an colortune early next week so I'll be able to tune it properly. For now I'll leave it be and take care of other little things.

I tried to see if this cheap a** rear set I found could work on the passenger peg holes for when I'll put the clip-on bars and aluminium seat.. It's not too bad actually

Also prepping the seat to make a fiberglass pan for the upholstery..

Anyways, that's that for the weekend.

Cheers from Geneva's nasty weather,
Seb

I need a bracket for the brake like you are using for your rear sets. Where did you get?

Any idea how you will be mounting the seat?

Tews,
The bracket came with a rear set I found on ebay 70$ Vietnam-made for the CB400F
I'll try to contact the seller to see if I can get another bracket for you.

Haven't put my finger on a good way to mount the seat. I'd like something fairly solid, perhaps toggle bolts to get it mounted on the frame. by using existing threads.
What did you do for yours? Could you get the rubber mounts to fit?

Nothing on my end for mounting. I put the rubber grommets on the pan itself. If they were a 1/2" thicker they would work

Thanks for the link Steve-o, I had my eye on those too (You can tell I already did some shopping at Frank's).
The problem is that this seat is so CB550 custom that it sits flush on the frame. Without much space to spare between the edge of the seat and the frame's tubing.

Since the 4 holes of the seat sit on the tubing (where the rubber grommet usually goes), why not drill 4 holes (as small as possible), make the upholstery pan with 4 flat head bolts within the fiber glass, and run them through the seat and frame holes, settled with a flange nut at the other end. Not sure the dimensions allow but it would be worth checking it out.

I'm not out of the woods just yet
