After a complete overhaul I rode the bike from Dallas almost all the way to Cancun, Mexico! After a few years of neglect she was looking pretty rough, leaking oil, and recently someone ran into her while she was parked and left the scene!
So I've decided its about time to start collecting parts and tearing down my bike! I just started a second job and am pretty broke but am going to try my best to move this project along.
I know I want a more cafe style tank, seat, and springs. The front fender was smashed in the crash so I need to decide between no fender or a fender + pedestrian slicer. I'll also be taking apart the top end to fix an oil leak! First order o business, inspiration
I'm trying to get a little steampunk feel with the rebuild
I'm going for a tank with a flat bottom and front, instead of how mine is rounded in the front. Would anyone have any advice for me? If you have any inspirational pictures feel free to add some ideas! Also, I'm in need of the following parts if anyone has them on the cheap... or for a christmas present??
- Right and left controls
- Throttle & Clutch cables for clubmans
- Steering bearing kit
- Front fender
- Top end gaskets
- points cover
- combo reg/rect
- Rearsets
