cb350 tank on a cb550?
« on: December 12, 2013, 08:41:51 PM »
I've always liked the forward leaning look of the earlier cb350 gas tanks. I'm wondering if one of those will fit a cb550 that's in the '74-'78 range?

'73 CB750k engine, hubs, and a '76 tank, on 'a 78 frame. Go figure.

I think that the 350 tanks are a fair bit shorter and wouldn't hit the rear tank mount.

Thanks.. pretty dumb question I know. I probably could and should have confirmed it myself. Just a half-ass fancy notion.

It is a cool tank, and throwing the correct  saddle with it is what you have to do with cb/cl twins. You would have to weld.
