Mock up Dummy Motor

Does or did anyone ever make a dummy CB750 motor for mock ups ?  Was gonna use some empty cases

If I had an extra 750 engine and had the machine shop knowledge and resources to make a moving cutaway, this would be in my office:

Not that I'm aware of. Empty cases would be OK. A friend made a chevy cutaway by using a panic saw to cut out the internal webs, bores etc.  He reduced the weight considerably.

Did you say "reduced the weight"? Oh gawd! Now all the cafe guys are going to be cutting out big chunks of their motors with Sawz-Alls to save a few pounds.

Kawasaki and probably others used to make working cut away engines for display in dealer showrooms. They were pretty dangerous though if a little kid etc. was to put there hand in there  ;)   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E8nBt_-1GU

I have a toast Suzuki 250 engine that I plan to cut away too.

Some time ago I saw a coffee table made with an engine too.

I think a gutted one could be around 75 or 80. Lbs, pretty easy to handle. Installing, you would leave topend on, but no sidecovers.
Plus you could make 4 aluminum spacer,  to replace cylinder at correct height, and same for head, so if desires you could leave one of those out...even lighter.. The rest of stuff you put on after it goes in the frame and is in place..

I still like my idea the best. Panel saws are for.....panels. I read "panic saw" as a Sawz All recipricating big metal bade?

Do you think you will be able bolt pipes to it accurately. . And plus /minus what tolerance?  On things like motormount, clutch cover, etc

A panic saw has a gas engine and a large cuttoff wheel. Used by fire departments, to take things apart in a hurry. My brick layer buddy always called it a panic saw. I never cut a panel with one but I did cut a lot of rebar and water main / sewer pipe.
