I have had yet another moron that has decided he did not like the part we sold him. He gets a set of Highway bars for 9.99 plus shipping. These are the h way bars from Home Wrecker which had never been ditched.


He sends email:

I read your words in your auction page and I beleived the whole fellow biker thing. I received my highway bar that was shipped about 2 1/2 weeks after I paid for it and I was extremely dissapointed with it. You failed to mention that it had been in a pretty good wreck. It is bent and has very deep scratches on both sides. None of my biker friends would ever dream of putting this on their bike. It is not salvageable at all it should have been thrown away. I don't mind a little elbow grease to get some rust off but it needs straighteneing and rechroming. I will be throwing it in the garbage, where it should have gone in the first place. I would appreciate a refund. Thank you. Darin

I like the old CB, but talk about wiz/bang. I current project is a 74 Yamaha RD 350... It's at a point where I can ride it around the neighborhood, but still not street legal. Now I understand why they called this bike the giant killer in it's day. This little 2 stroke will indeed kill giants. Roll on clutchless wheelies in stock form. I just gotta get over the fact that it sounds like a weed eater.

Wish there was a picture. Just tell the guy that you will be glad to refund his money, minus shipping, upon receipt of his rejected order.  And be sure to apologize for any misunderstanding, pain, and/or suffering.
A satisfied customer is happy, but an angry customer tells hundreds of people.

tell him to take a picture of all this damage... bc it was fine when you sent it.... BTW i had an RZ250, that was a complete beast.... waaaay too fast..

Ah the joys of mail order! F@#^*%d if you do and f@#^%d if you don't. Yes it's important to work on the maxim that 'the customer is always right', but in the big picture will you retain their business if you drop trou and give them what they want? And if they bad mouth to their friends..yes that is not a good thing, but the emarket is a vast place to do business.

I guess it all boils down to being scrupulously careful with product description and then if the customer has a different perception of what they expect to receive...well, that's their problem.

$9.99, or whatever sounds like a good deal to me......

Triples are cool. One of my first bikes was a GT250, missing a cyclinder, but it did smoke
Currently have 6 Kawasaki triples, 250, 350's and a 500. I like the 350 best, as it kinda runs
and has most of the parts still attached.

My policy is ....send the part back and refund is on it's way. IF if is recieved in the same condition I sent it, I figure I can always resell it.
IF not, bite the loss, and
then you have a customer whom will spread the word on your honesty, even if the buyer is wrong.
Don't sweat the small stuff.
Works for me.

I heard the Kawasaki H2 and H3 were freak'n unridable monsters..  Wheelie machines..  Anyone have any first hand experience with those??

PS- cheapo-  Did you use pictures before the sale?  Pictures take all BS outta sales- if they see it and still like it, it's theirs after they pay..  No refunds (or heafty "re-stock" fee!)

It has been a rough week here. Yes I do still enjoy this biz.

1. I always include pics with teh auctions as well as pics of the damage if any.
2. Some people are just stupid.

And I really have nothing against 2 cycles or Yamahahahahahaha's Just it seems generally the customers are a pain in the ass. Not all (they are a surprise) are ace holes, but I would say 85% of my Yamaha customers have just about given me ulcers.
