my crappy vw never needs pushing ;D youre doing it wrong :P

Front end swap? I personally dislike rounds on the mk1, I had a 4 door 80 early westy with a 2.0 16v swap dual carb'd.. I never had to push that! My bug I had to push often. Dimitri, 195 stretched? Lol I put a 165/45 on a 8" wide wheel. Go big or go home :)

Very nice!! I had to run the abf alternator to get it to clear the carbs. I know a few guys who have bought whole front clips and mailed them up here because they like the citi golf look.

Not a VW but I used to have a Subaru WRX, nice car pretty fast and fun to drive. Sold it a year later I was so tired of getting stuck behind garbage trucks, school buses, older folks with a different sense of time passing, and so on. At least on a bike... well.

I love the kickstarter, it lets you use a small battery. Speaking of which, has anybody tried a permanent magnet swap? I think I searched before but never found anything.

Haha too true.. I'm driving a 85 westy golf with a 1.6td swap right now and I'm getting tired of always working on it but I can't justify selling it when it gets 50mpgs!

I like kicking my bike. I kick more than I press the button. Actually only end up pushing buttons when it is cold out.

Kick the 750K carefully, especially if your side covers are brittle/O.E.
Just one swipe from your right calf will, guaranteed, spoil your day.

People used to crank start their cars too.....

I don't see a handle on the front of any of the VW's.

Guess if your passed a certain age and don't quite "get" why kick starting is "cool" you are automatically a Troll?

A video of people pulling their bike up on the center stand would be kinda funny.

For some it's a struggle.

hmmm, maybe if you read some threads on here that aren't about chopping off the back of your bike, or rendering your carbs useless for the sake of looks, you would realize that the quoted statement more accurately describes you...sorry, that was rude and uncalled for and I'm sure you are a perfectly cool motorcyclist and a fine human being that actually enjoys riding motorcycles and could care less whether anyone sees you or not.

It's too bad this thread turned into a hipster vs. troll thread.  I think the original idea was a good one.

While I do realize a big selling point of the late 60''s to mid 70's Honda's was the electric start, I feel the kick start adds a nice aesthetic to our bikes.  IMHO, I think it looks and sounds better to kick start our bikes.

I've got to admit... yes, I think I look cool kick starting my bike.  I also think I look cool riding a vintage bike. Kick starting and riding my bike are pretty much the only cool things I do... otherwise I'm a pretty boring.

Yeah, I would like to see videos of girls kick starting bikes more than guys... but hey, I'm sure some of our lady members might enjoy watching some eye candy of guys kick starting life into their machines  :)

Hey man.....don't let these trolls push you around (er....I mean our fine SOHC bros!!! ;D). I like kickers also.
Here is a pic of my favorite watering hole and I have to tell ya......my favorite thing is going there on my bike and it will be the only Honda in a row of 5 to 10 bikes. On more than a few occasions it will be the only one in the pack that has spoked wheels and a kicker!!!!! I don't care who ya are.....thats fokin' cool!!!! Another thing that was cool there.....one of my favorite bartenders (female) has an old shovelhead Harley that is kickstart only. She used to have some probs getting it started but usually got it done because she knew the nature of the beast. That was until she had it tuned up and they adjusted the valves. It now has a bit more compression which makes it start and run better but she is having trouble kicking it over with it's improved compression. One day I was out front having a cig with her and we were talking about her having probs kicking it over. So I go "check this out Gina" and went over to my bike and kicked it over by hand....first try!!! She was impressed.

That's awesome man. Some people don't know to slowly set it to TDC before kicking. Glad you didn't get your arm ripped off. Having 4 cylinders makes it easier.

Man when I watch this video it makes me wish I  had a daughter. I can actually feel the fathers pride in this.  :')
