I can't imagine MDOT having as much fun with their new roads.

I've seen a flock of new Corvettes with manufacturer plates tooling around here recently, but nothing like that.

Thanks for posting. Wonder what kind of 'donation' it took to have that opportunity? Sure wish I had that opportunity with my 2012 GS Vette. You really do need that flat open road as they eat up pavement FAST. I had mine up to 140 and the traffic ahead of me appeared way too quick. 6 speed auto 2.73 rear end @ 5400rpm in 4th on a 6500 redline and it was screaming. Would have done considerably more. Smooth as silk.

Did you guys catch what gear he was in? It is a 7 speed. He may not have been out of 5th.

Yep, in 5th up to 200 mph.  Wish there was video of the tach throughout the run so we could see the shift points.  Texas has always had a huge car culture and the DPS has driven some really hot pursuit cars as a result of it.  I guess both the State Hwy system and Hennessey Performance get a big publicity win with this video.
