Cyberlink Powerdirector 8 anyone?
« on: December 17, 2013, 09:23:23 AM »
Im new to the video capture hobby and recently bought an analog to digital converter for my old HI8 tapes. The transfer to pc was pretty easy but Im not yet satisfied with the simplicity of the software. I had always assumed in a straighter forward theory that I would be able to put a full length video to my HD, place splits at the beginning and end of the segment of my choosing, and then simply do the drag and drop method to create small clips of my choosing. Not so. The only option that I have been able to work correctly is turning the clip into a finished piece burned to a dvd disc. It appears like the clip needs to go through a rendering process on its way to the dvd disk yet trying to render a clip to a file folder on the pc never seems to work right. Im still trying to find answers and looking at forums but my question number 1 to all of you is...........

Is Powerdirector worth my time to invest understanding or is there a more versatile software to recommend?

Also, its possible that Im just too much of a noob at this to make it do as I wish but Im hoping someone here understands my "mini clip drag and drop" desire and can tell me yes it can be done with my software and Im just still a dummy.

Thanx.........Boats  8)

You may want to try convertxtodvd http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

Looks like it may have all you need. Free trial available.
I had Pdirector but it was too complicated for me.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.
