!974 Yamaha RD 60
« on: December 18, 2013, 02:33:25 PM »
I found this little RD 60 on CL, it`s not in too bad of shape and everything is there. It needs paint a seat cover and tires and tubes. It has a title and only 879 miles on the clock. The PO said it was running when he parked it 6 months ago(famous last words) the tank is full of rust so I will get it soaking soon.I know it`s not some badazz 550 or 750 but I only have 150.00 in it and thought it would be a fun little bike to mess with. ;D

Cool bike.  Looks to be in good shape for $150.

I have to be honest though...if you're not going to keep it stock, prease remove that HUGE tail light assembly  :o  It just seems to dwarf the overall package.  Otherwise it looks pretty smooth!

Cheers, Joe

I agree they went a little overboard with the taillight. I haven`t decided how I want to go with it, I thought about a mini cafe. 8)

IIRC,  Yamaha used the same taillight on all RDs from that era-kept manufacturing cost down.  Cool bike...Larry

Well that makes sense I guess and would keep cost down to use parts in different bikes.
