Just got me Galfer Wave brake rotors from Riders Discount. Mike Van Wieren at Riders is awesome to deal with and always seems to make a better deal than anyone on stuff like this (Brembo MCs, etc.). The rotors look freaking amazing, and these are just the base models (not the crazy superbike racing ones).

Now to sort out the rear brake issue and the wheels!

If I am going to say goodbye to the Nine Lives bike, it is because this bike will be so much more. I have been trying to incorporate the lessons from my trial and error with the Nine Lives bike and make this one a restomod on steroids -- hence the name Bionic Mongrel. I don't feel a twinge of regret, either, because this bike started off as a non-runner looking like this (and, yes, the 4-4 pipes were completely roached):

I've been looking at wheels like these for a while Don, The ones i'm looking at are 5 spoke and 18x 4.75 and 18 x 2.75, with a number of different width sprocket carriers......., I think they are about $800-$900USD each, I haven't done the US conversion but thats close , free shipping too.... Had them bookmarked for future use for a while now...

I don't like 17's on our bikes... What brand are those ones..?

I don't know the vendor, yet. A friend of mine used them once before to make a set of mag style wheels, and is getting in touch with them to see if they can mill a set with the hubs I need. I will let you know if they can do it.

I think I mentioned I was going Motogadget on this build (M-Unit, M-Button and M-Lock). I also sprang for a Chronoclassic Dark Tach/Speedo (with black bezel) to replace my analog gauges.

Other than the standard stock oil pressure for the "dummy light," or an analog pressure gauge mounted on the right side of the engine, what is there available to adapt to our old motors to communicate digitally to the gauge? I wasn't aware there was such a sensor nor another one for gear position.

The bike will definitely be tuned on a dyno, but I'm unfamiliar with what sensors will work with the 750 motor.

How are you going to route the wiring from the sender unit under the crankcase so it doesn't get in the way of the header or crankcase and doesn't look like a stray loose wire?

Thanks, Cal. I wouldn't mine using more of the functionality of the gauge to the extent reasonable. This would be for my 750 so I already have an analog pressure gauge for it. Temp would be nice but probably overkill since I'll be running with a cooler. A gear position would be trick but none of my bikes have had them so it's nothing I'd miss.

I just ordered my Shorai battery for this bike. Shorai's recommended 750 battery (LFX14L5-BS12) uses a ginormous #5 frame which is 6.3" high. I am not sure why the frame (form factor) is so large because the 14 amp/hr and 210 cold cranking amps battery is much larger than 18 amp/hr and 270 cca battery they make for my RC51 which is much smaller. I ended up going with the smaller and more robust model (so it will fit easier under my seat cowl with my Motogadget M-Unit, etc.) for a few bucks more.

In addition, I'm going to spring for one of anders288 32amp alternator/stator upgrades.

On my other 750, I used a Trucklite LED headlight.

It looks really cool, but it is extremely heavy. The housing is die-cast metal and the polycarbonate lens is thick.

After using one of the Cyclops LED bulbs from Devin/Cognitomoto on my 550, I was surprised how bright it was without having to add so much weight. The Trucklite LED produces 1,300 lumens compared to the 3,600 lumens produced by the Cyclops. Oh yeah, and it was a crap-load cheaper, too -- about $120 cheaper; of course the Trucklite has a housing, too, so the price comparison is NOT apples-to-apples. Both are plug-and-play solutions.

Now, I'll have to see if I can find a better lens (something more unique than the stocker glass)

It does, a 60w AdvMonster spot light, and a 30w flood. It's starting to look like something out of a Mad Max film!

This bulb is seriously brighter than my Trucklite LED, which is also brighter than a standard H4 halogen. The beam has a good spread too -- wider than the more focused Trucklight.

Note: if the Ural uses non H4 connectors in the driving/spot lights, Cyclops has a direct selling website from which you can order with different connectors. I'd rather give the business to Devin, especially since is mark-up is negligible and he provides so many other great parts.
