K1 Gauge Instrument faces on Ebay
« on: September 02, 2006, 04:01:17 AM »
I want to re-do my gauges and heard that ebay has it's share of junk faces. I was wondering if anyone has tested these guys? They look decent enough. I'm trying to keep (close to) an origional look.
 Thanks in advance,
   K.B.

Think a couple of the guys from the site are selling chromed gauges and faces, follow this thread and look at El Cheapo's postings

oops, I forgot to add the link to the guage faces....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CB-750-K1-Gauge-Instrument-faces_W0QQitemZ150028859329QQihZ005QQcategoryZ50463QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Was just wondering if anyone has ordered from them and if they were decent....

Also, yes, I did read the thread on elcheapo's guage faces but it seemed to drop off and I thought he was not doing them. I would like to find out if he has them though....

I've got a '70 750 and am waiting to see if he does a dark green (i.e. close to original colour) gauge as I am hung up on keeping some things close to original.  But if I don't see one soon, I may opt for the black faces until something else comes along.

They look great just not my fav colour. But 100%  better than my current #$%*e.

Got mine back from restoration in Germany.
new faces, new curved glases, new black repro covers.
The mechanism has been greased, too.

It was horrible expensive.
curved glases, like the originals, each EUR 8.00,
faces, multiple serigraphed, grinded, each EUR 45.00
black repro covers, like the originals, each EUR 30.00
new silicon oil for the damper, EUR 25.00
new needle paint, mechanism greasing, calibration and so on.

totally, I have paid EUR 360.00 or 380.00.
Done by Max Mahlmeister, a real expert.
I know, it was horrible expensive, but there is no chance to get gauges in that condition
on the market, needed for a restoration w/o any compromises.
He offers a lot replacement gauge parts for the 500s, 750s, Z900, H1, H2 and Laverdas.
