Odds and Ends...
« on: January 06, 2014, 04:26:36 PM »
Could anyone tell me the procedure for tightening up the triple tree? I want to make sure I don't have it too loose/tight.
Also, I bought the All Balls sealed wheel bearings for the front. I'm assuming they're already greased and I don't need to pack them, correct?
Thanks!

are you asking about the steering head bearing adjustment?  you need to get a service manual of some sort.  Torque specs are in there too...and no All Ballz bearings do not come with grease in them, you will have to pack them yourself....oops just saw you were asking about wheel bearings, no idea on those

From experience, I've found that many of these sealed bearings have stuff-all grease in them. Flick the seal off one side and check. If it looks like it needs more then repack it. You can leave that seal off if you want and fit the bearing with the open side facing inwards.
