Sam, that's way cool. Dales still at it. My buddy was talking to him a couple weeks ago. I think I'll be in touch! I have a Dale Walker cyl and head marked Denco and Walker, also a stroker crank and Golden Rods that came with it. Not RC crank, maybe Denco? Gotta call Dale now and find out more. I've got questions!! 8) Bill
ESP Automatic ones....bottom end etc! 8)

You know, the cylinder made a good cup holder! Gotta contact Gary about who he got it from! I have a head, not sure if Gary kept the one that came with it or if I have it. Bill

I covered his 1978 bracket hondamatic photo back in the middle of Sam's forum topic build. Impressive for his day. Not impressive for current Hondamatic racing. He wheelied off of the line running 12.3's. I can't do that today with a Hondamatic with a stock wheelbase. Be interesting to find out how he did make it wheelie like that. Sam's Hondamatic bike ran 12.3's with a smaller 836cc motor. The turbo Hondamatic would have loved a modified torque converter allowing higher rpm launches. It was geared for a big top end. There's a Texas hondamatic owner that I talked with about 3 years ago who was talking about putting a turbo on his 10 second Hondamatic. He never called back with updates.
Testing my memory, but I'm remembering 12's for his 400...(12.4's?) Motor was bigger with a small overbore, compression, aftermarket rods, cam, and a good port job if I'm remembering it right. I hope that someone else has a better memory of it. There was an article in some magazine on it back in the day.

MR. HONDAMATIC MAN WEEKS : In 2014 I'm driving up to you location and watch you run 10's on the 1320' [ any date or time = can travel 24-7 ] .  Never been at any track in that part of the USA , but to see a HONDAMATIC run 10's in the 1/4 mile I would drive anywhere for that event. Been to DALE WALKERS shop as my son who lives in Northern California had a Suzuki - Bandit that he raced and Dale gave him many tips with this motor and bike.

I believe that Russ had a 10 second Hondamatic briefly. It got written up in one of the bike magazines. I believe that it's the quickest gas one ever. Would love to hear about what he remembers of it. ;)

12's for a 400, WOW impressive. If I can get anywhere near that, when I build a similar engine, I'll be very happy.
