I've been working for the last month on a solar energy project. I KNOW how some of you demand pictures, so without further ado...

If you stood in the wrong spot during assembly you'd end up with a hell of a sun tan..... :o

Steve, here are some specs: the dish is about 75 feet in diameter, and weighs about 71 tons. It has about 300-350 square meters of reflective area. The general rule-of-thumb for power radiated by the sun is 1 KW per square meter, but the mirrors are never perfect.
Our job is to disassemble the dish, then reassemble it at a new location, where it will be used to test Sterling hot air engines.
G'day Mick. We had to coat the mirrors with a secret "mud" recipe before anyone could work above the mirrors without getting fried. :o ;D

No way, ain't going to happen! :o I'm skeered of heights! If I'm over 6 feet off the ground, I have a safety harness and short leash, per OSHA rules, although the leash has caused a few problems. Several times I either got it wrapped around my legs while in the basket, or forgot to un-hook from the basket and tried to walk away only to come to an abrupt stop. :-[
