Well, it's original. I'll give him that. And it's probably easier to ride than an OCC!  8)

well from a design and workmanship standpoint it is beautiful....but i cant say i like it overall to look at as a motorcycle.

there are a lot of really nice details there that would be great on any bke. the engine is beautiful. also creative ideas in the engneering. the steering, the minimal wheels, and the fact that i dont know how it stops are interesting.

i would like to see a bike built on a more conventional frame using all of those ideas.

and those white tires are the coolest. i need a set.

I want to see him actually ride it, not just sit on it... apart from that it's a fine piece of ART from his perspective...

His name is Isto Kotavuopio and he is from Finland. Silversmith by trade.

He has got som really cool, unconventional ideas, and he´s not afraid to show them.

In order to compete at the Norrtälje Custom Bike Show the bike has to be rideable, and it is proved by the rule that all competing bikes has to be ridden to the park where the show takes place.

He was involved in Mr. Moore´s award winning "Viridian". For pics and info on Viridian, go here: http://www.cycleworld.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=48&page_number=4

Scanned a pic from the swedish mag MCM (really good mag, too). This was the first bike I had seen by Isto. Blew my mind!

All made by hand, no CNC, chrome or billet crap!

For example, the forklegs are grinded from a solid bar with an anglegrinder. The rear wheel consists of a rim from a tractor wagon with a great big maltesecross as spokes.

Could it be more hardcore?

Cheers
Daniel

I give the bike 10 on originality and art. That thing it way out there and I can tell you I would ride it if just for no other reason than to disturb other people around me. Reminds me of some crazy sci fi thing we would have seen in "A league of Extrodinary Gentlemen" I think it kicks ass.

Bummer about the chain hitting the frame, though. Is there anything duct tape can't fix?

Show me one person that builds a "perfect"  bike and I will show you a liar. It takes time to get it right I guess.

Nice as a piece of art.....would look good in the living room. I'm not sure whether it would function even as a bar hopper, though!

Well,
well well, ok so it is beautiful.  ;D
But I wouldn't want to ride it for the following reasons:
have to wear shorts, as pants would either get caught in the chain, or
melted by the shorty pipes,
rain would hit you in the face,
bike would fall over on the sidestand,
would not want to carry the large square centerstand in my backpack,
I think water would get into the engine via the velocity stack,

It is the ultimate harley, displayable but not really ridable in the real world.
peace,
michel

I guess nobody noticed the motor in that chopper? It wasn't no Harley. If you'll check, it was an old Indian motor. Harleys have the carb on the right, Indian's are on the left. Check the cylinder and head design and the oil pump on the side of the motor. That is a genuine motor from Springfield, Mass.
Weird looking chopper but, decent motor.    Later on, Bill

I like the last chop in front of the grafitti wall.

Kinda like a chop/cafe mix! The length of a chop and wheels but the posture similar to a cafe.
