So, now that the OEM needle and jet kits are unavailable....
« on: September 30, 2014, 10:25:13 am »
from Honda, where are we supposed to get them?
I've got 1975 CB750F carbs on my K4, and the original needle jets were measurably ovaled.
I installed a Keyster needles and needle jets (middle clip, 1 turn out on airscrew) and the bike was way lean; off idle to 2/3 throttle.
I've since put the OEM needles back in but left the Keyster needle jets. I havent had a chance to ride it yet with OEM needles and Keyster jets, but I have my doubts as the keyster jets have a seat that starts 1.1mm higher up than OEM jets.
The Keyster needles, like everyone says, are not even close.

What to do????

BTW, I tried to order the needle/jets from Bike Bandit 2 days ago. They let me place the order, but sent me an email saying they are discontinued.

I realize they is a guy on Ebay selling them for 3x the actual cost, but I'm not playing his game. What a dick move, BTW if you're on here.

Thanks.
I checked there. I see they sell main and idle jets, but I don't see needle jets. I saw some needles, too. But again no needle jets.

Have you had your local dealer do a 'Honda Dealer computer parts locating service' for you ? if you know a friendly local Honda parts guy they can usually find'em,or DSS?...
Terry in Western Hills Honda in Cinci. has been helpful to me for lots of NOS parts also.

Would you be able to re-install your oem needle jets ?

Thanks.  No I haven't tried the local dealer, sometimes the most obvious solution is best, haha.  I'll do that.
I could reinstall the originals, which I may try. I remember reading that Honda Man turned his 180 degrees and they worked good as new...  worth a shot, too. Mine are pretty ovaled, though; 0.03mm at the throat.

Turning an oval item does not change the size of the hole? I previously found some on EBay. 3 then 1. Have you tried searching with the part number? 16012-392-004. That pulled up more than that number so be careful.

Just peeked and there are 3 by one seller and 1 from another. I bought a new set of Keihin CR carbs for about $800. Choices can be a #$%* at times.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Hey, I am just wondering. Did you put the 750f carbs on there? If ya did... was it an easy exchange or did ya have to buy some parts?

Hi,

These are 1975 Cb750 F0 carbs (064A)  The bodies are the same as the early K carbs, they bolt right on.
My bike came with these carbs (PO install)

If you want just the needles, call the Honda Doctor located in Waterford, MI. He deals in 70s Honda parts and repair. He seems to have everything I've ever needed, either new or used for my 73 cb750. Give him a call and see if he has them and ships. He's going out of business next June so I have a feeling he will give you a good price. I'm going to try and clean him out close to closing time...looking forward to some good deals

Thanks, I found all 4. Looked at that place but saw UK pounds and looked elsewhere.
Partzilla let me place an order for 8 of them, then only sent 2 and refunded the rest.  Bike bandit took money for 8 of them and sent one.  Most online places seem to take orders, even if they can only get 1.
The last one of four, I bought on ebay, NOS, for close to $50 shipped, damn gougers!!!  The one from bike bandit was $16, partzilla $18

They are out there, buy I think supplies are drying up fast. I really wanted a spare set (you never know) too

The kit contains the parts for 4 cylinders.

Fits for K0-K6 and F1.
The jet needle in this set is for K1, so please adjust a main jet from #120.

Performance is the same as Honda original parts.

Thanks for the link PeWe, I'd no idea they sold them.

Great price, too. $93 for all four, shipped.
About $40 less than I paid... oh well
