are the fork legs tapered on a 75 cb550f?

Hi all, I measured the fork legs on my 75 cb550f and found the following:

Above the top triple clamp (33.8mm):


Below the bottom clamp (35mm):


The legs appear to be tapered. Is this right, or am I measuring wrong? I'm trying to fit clip ons but don't know if they will work if the legs are tapered.

They are 35MM from the factory, no taper. Either you did not re-zero, or you are detecting lots of erosion/debris on your tube.
