Author Topic: 1976 CB750 Project to look like my '70's CB (Read 27829 times)

Just bought this today. Plan on duplicating my 1974 CB750 I owned in 1976. Bike is in running condition with a few mods. I'm not a believer in chopping up a bike in original condition and making into a Cafe or bobber, so it was nice to find the bike close to what it will look like . All I plan on doing is make a few changes,painting frame and tank plus making the engine a little prettier. The whole bike was rattle can painted, including the flat black engine.

I'll ride it for awhile to make sure there are no issues. Got it for $1700 if anyone was wondering.

I guess I'll have to keep an eye for a Bell full face, at least I think it was.

I sold my 1970 Norton Commando and bought the '74 CB. I'll Have to admit, I was bored with the Honda, I didn't have to constantly work on it, can't say that for the Norton. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a Norton now.

Thanks, Yeah the Corbin seat I like and it will save me some money. I've had Corbin seats on passed bikes and I liked them, but the foam area in this seat is really thin, so I'm sure they use a denser foam than the thicker seats. I MEAN TO TELL YOU, ITS A HARD SEAT!!!, Better than bottoming on the seat pan.

I did find a hole in the case at the sprocket location, I posted in open forum

Taking down to the frame, looking for things that need attention.

The Fenders cleaned up well, they were painted.

Hello, does anyone recognize the side cover, It has screws to hold it on. Haven't seen this emblem before .

yeah your right, just look on there website. I'll be looking to find some other ones. I'm looking for ones that don't have place for the logo, just plain ones.

I have opportunities to work on the bike at work, mostly cleaning. I do smog inspection, Calif requires every other year, transfer, out of state. Have down time, today cleaned the head and cylinder, lap the valves. Tomorrow power washing frame. I've restored, CB500, '65 '69 S90, '68 CL90, did most of the cleaning at work. I work with great people, I'm very fortunate.

Sometimes I bribe the young employees, usually lunch and let them take it for a spin will do it.
