Topic: WARNING! PayPal Limited message

Recently I've received two suspicious messages reporting to be from PayPal.  They claimed that my account had been "limited" due to incomplete profile data that I needed to update, links provided.  Neither message personally identified me, as PayPal communications are supposed to.  When I checked the message details, the sender was "from stagsv05 ([192.168.2.18]) by mailout.studerus.ch".

I reported both messages to "spoof@paypal.com".  I didn't follow the links.  Haven't heard anything back from PayPal, but I would advise to be on the lookout for any similar messages you receive, and to be cautious not to respond or follow their links provided.

I reply sometimes but usually send it to spoof.  I  reply with something like this:

I'd be a little careful responding with any kind of message be it in a spoof back or otherwise. Opening and or dealing with it could open a can of worms and responding to it let's them know they have an active address.
  Best I think to report it and delete.

I agree Eric but it is good to have some fun with the scammers-and they do not get any valid info other than the email address which they already have...Larry

Yep, unless you are spoofing an IP address and even then it is best not to respond. When you respond they find your address as active and can target it more.

Just go to your paypal account,(don't use their link to get there), and check the messages.    If there are no messages there, then it is spam.
  It ain't rocket surgery!
