so dear Aussies,  what's that change in regulations mentioned that'll even out the field then? rest of the world running 14:1 and methanol too or locals running petrol?

in previous years the Aussies have run 1600cc methanol burning monsters on 17 inch wheels with slicks , while we had to use 1000cc bikes burning 4 star with 18 inch wheels and treaded tyres !

i was joking brent ........ well , a bit . the original rules were that we ran to our rules and the Aussies ran to theirs . which was fine but the aussie rules are a bit more liberal than ours .
most brit riders now build special bikes just for this race , just to try and even things up you understand !

Hi there

Heading off to the Island in about 30 minutes time, guess I can wait that long.

Might see some of you down there.  I will be on red/white Boldor with a chair hanging off it  my daughter will be navigating. Say G'day if you see us.

Have a good one
Scott

well, was reffering to Ryan saying there:"and the change in rules will even things up."  not sure it means brits aligning to 1600/meth .... or does it? just hard to imagine UK people developing these unique motors for just one race.

not just the motors yossef , i have altered a couple of frames to work with 17 inch wheels just for this race

this year only the top 5 point scorers count towards the team score , i think this is the change he is talking about .

Simon's taking the piss Yossif.
The bikes are based on our period 5 machines.
Max1300cc but the fast ones are around 1150cc and no meth.
Methanol is only allowed in machines up to our period 4.

Cheers,
Brian

Right on all counts Yossif.
The regs I was referring to allows only the top 5 from each team to be scored.
These bikes have never ran meth and engine size is restricted to 1300cc.

Cheers,
Brian

WOOHOO!
The Yanks are bringing over three of their P2 sidecars.
Brian, would that be equivalent to our P4's?
No, hang on your's is P2 isn't it?
That puts them in the middle of our P3, P4's spec wise.
Hopefully they will run in P3.

Cheers,
Brian

They'd be the same as mine Brian - 16" / 750cc (probably Yamaha XS's &/or BMW's) / front exit kneeler / dustbin fairing / 1972 cut-off.  If they get to run with your P3's could be fun, but if they're stuck in with your P4's, you'll likely lap them. ;)  Going to have do like the Brits and build PI specials. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ha ha, I've just realised who Adam, is, I sold him a heap of parts for his drag bike last year. How's it going Adam, have you built that engine yet? Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Bear, some folks from the New England area (east coat US) are taking several 350cc racebikes, CB's, Ducati's, Dave Roper & his 350 Aermacchi. Seems like two P2 BMW sidecars and a Vincent powered machine from what I can gather.

Yep your right mate hopefully they will do the right thing by them and run them in P3.
They deserve to be able to run at the pointy end of the field after putting in that much effort.
They would be on a hiding to nothing lining up with us.

Cheers,
Brian

I've seen that Vincent (1000 twin) chair before, very nice build.  They might stick him in with you Brian.  If one of the BMW's is the one that was at Mosport two years ago, it's a 'big wheel' sitter, and very quick, well driven.  It's a right side chair though, so not sure if that would be an advantage at PI.

Ducked out to the shed last night to finnish our meticulous preparation for PI ie; change the oil and charge the batteries.
And what do you know?
There was a heap of shavings in the sump. :o :(
They turned out to be plastic.
It looks like the the new primary guide is throwing off plastic shavings.
Hopefully it's not sitting quite plum and was just wearing an edge off.
We will take it for a short test run up the road tonight and drop the sump.
If there's more shavings we will have to pull the motor. >:( >:(
If it's ok than we start packing for PI! YAHOO!  ;D ;D

Cheers,
Brian
