Common fuse issue?

So, I keep having issues with my 7k ignition I think (i have ordered a new one). I keep blowing the 15amp fuse. Then I noticed that the 15A holder seems to have melted a bit. So I removed the entire fuse box and replaced it with one from my other 7k. Then, I noticed that that fuse box was melted in the same place. Then I looked at my  3k, 6k and 8k. They all have some melting damage to the 15a fuse holder. Is this inherent in these electrical systems?

It's a pretty good indication of too much amperage through that circuit. Corrosion, short, non-stock equipment, dodgy Ignition switch.... Limitless possibilities for where the problem is, but it's obviously a problem.

Checked out Hondaman's replacement fuse blocks and ignition components?

Hi, Lowmax! Sounds like your problem might have the same root cause as one I was having with the glass 15a Buss fuse on my 550K popping at the end, not melting the link. Here is the explaination Mark Paris, aka Hondaman, offered. Put in his fuse block upgrade and no problems since!

You may wish to get one of my ATC-style Fuseholders. The metal clips on the old fuseholders were plated with chromate, which had a 10-year lifespan. Today, your fuse clips are probably a dark brownish color, which is oxidized chromate: this is a good resistor, and it makes a real good heater, which heats up the fuses until they melt. Then they look like they blew. I make more fuseholders for 750/550 bikes than anything else these days!

If you like wiring and fabricating you can make up your own or just pop one of his straight in.

I have the same issue with my hondamatic 750, I have replaced 2 fuse boxes and still have the same issue.  Were you able to resolve this issues?  Thank you very much ;)
