Riding 78 CB750K to Florida
« on: September 04, 2006, 01:47:00 PM »
I'm leaving Vermont on Sept 19th for Florida vacation. Looking for heads up on problems to be avoided. my girl has about 19,600 miles currently. Will tweak before leaving but looking for a shop in Bradenton area for servicing before the return trip. I have converted to  electronic ignition and she runs very well. Thanks in advance.. ;D

HI

Lets see
1. The middle of hurricane season in Florida. :o
2. Rain showers pop up whenever and wherever and lightning gets nasty at times.
3. I know of a good bike shop but its in Clearwater, not too far away  from your destination

Just my 3 cents,I  have lived in Tampa bay area for 38 years!

I know the area very well. There is a small bike shop just before you get to the Bradenton Sarasota Airport. They are old school and know these bikes. He even has a junk yard in the back. now, I am having a senior moment and I don't remember the name. Stay away from the big Honda dealer, they have no interest in older bikes. The owner has a CB750, but he told me "I only make money selling new bike and acessories".

Old school Honda shop, they have anything you could need in stock. It's in Sarasota, just south of Bradenton.

I'm in Bradenton, as well. I'll buy you a beer.

Membership to a roadside assistance programme....? Not being pessimistic here, just that if you buck-up for membership then you will never break down.

Failing that, take a puncture repair kit with you.

And good waterproofs.

I should have posted that, too. That's where I bought my bike. Great guys.
