I think I've got 3 1/2- 4 ' in my front yard I'll know better when I go out to the wood pile to bring in more wood so 3-4" inches doesn't cut it guys it just sounds like your whining.

Well, considering you live in a flat place with roads laid out in a grid pattern I can see your logic. Down here every step is either up or down and the roads follow the old indian paths, who followed the deer before them.
Growing up in Michigan I know what deep snow is all about. It isn't a big deal when all you might do is drift off into a ditch but down here you might drift off a 500' ridge. No plows, no salt, 50% shaded areas that don't see sun. Totally different situation.
Nccb, your kids are looking like the are enjoying the snow almost as much as the Malamute. I have had a few of them (both, kids and malamutes) The dogs are great.
