On the morning news they showed a Tweet from someone in Alaska, "Please send our weather back."  :) Out of curiosity I checked the current weather in Barrow, Alaska this morning. We were at -13 F and Barrow was a balmy -9 F. I must say, getting a bit tired of the media focus on the weather though. Several days ago they [media] were saying "it is colder then Anchorage, Alaska!" Anything for shock value, Anchorage is not all that different from Michigan because of its location. It is cold, no question, we had our share of snow so far already this season, but all you need to do is dress for it. Life will go one folks.  ;)
Correct about the media hype.  Stores around here were mobbed.  People acting like they would be stuck at home for months. I talked to a couple of cashiers today and they said it was crazy.  What are you going to do with 9 loaves of bread for 1 week ??     :o

The first year I lived in Southeast  Alaska, (94) I braced myself for the Alaskan winter. I did not know any better, but with 3' of snow by Thanksgiving I thought it was pretty normal, and didn't know any different. Everyone else was saying wtf to the record snowfall..

PFFFT! You whiners have got it easy, it was a shade under 80 deg F here today so I took my 'Wang for a ride wearing my open face helmet, and now I've got a sunburned face! My poor beautiful face is as red as a baboons arse! ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

#$%*! Roads closed again today, snow squall warning, at least no blizzard warning, it must be getting better, I wonder why I ever moved to Ontario sometimes, I could have stayed in California (nah) or B.C.

My county lowered it to a level 2 road warning today so off to work I went. A level 2 basically means the roads still suck and they would prefer you stay off the roads and oh yeah the roads were slick big time, nothing but hard packed snow and ice. I left for work about 15 mins earlier than I normally would and got there right on time.

Oh sure hall...rub it in...we have ice all over the roads here. The temp is much better and supposed to be 36, but more rain / ice coming tonight. I can slide down my driveway to the road at the moment.

Man, what I'd give for slipping on my arse on the ice that you guys are all complaining about! The temps here will be in the 90's and 100's all week, so add another 10 degrees in my steel garage and see why my projects will be going nowhere this week......... ;D

Ha ha, no worries John, can you bring some ice over? We'll need it to keep the beer cold! ;D

Out here in FL its a brisk and sunny 80+ degrees. But I know what you guys are going through, we had at least 2 days where it dropped below 70 so I know the struggle  :'(

EDIT: it looks like winter if finally rolling in and we're going to have a deep freeze of about 60 degrees this week.
