Dropping to 0 and below for the lows here tomorrow and naturally everyone is freaking out.
Hopefully my parts will arrive tomorrow so I can finish up my brakes!

They pretty much shut the whole county down here today, the 10"+ of snow was one thing but the -15 deg weather along with the wind of up to 30mph that followed it sealed the deal. No sooner would a snow plow clear a road and the wind will drift the snow over it again. Nothing but police and or emergency vehicles allowed on the roads today.

Wish they would do that here. -8*F and 13" of snow and still had to dig the car out and go to work.

No offense meant towards any members from Florida, but I'd rather have the occasional day below zero than live there. Just wish I could have a "snow day" and play instead of work.

Truck thermometer read -2 on my way to work today. Its supposed to get all the way up to 15 here in NW Arkansas by this afternoon.
The temperature, by itself, wouldn't be so bad. But we have a layer of ice on the streets that the plows can't do anything about, and won't melt in this kind of cold. More freezing rain and ice pellets are in our forecast for later in the week. I can't remember when I've been so sick of winter, with so much left to go.
Where you come from is gone.
Where you thought you were going to, weren't never there.
And where you are ain't no good, unless you can get away from it.

Yup, same here.  VA is as far south I am willing to live.

BTW in Europe I did not know that humidity can be a problem, first time I realized that was when I walked out of JFK in NYC in July.

Well, on the way out this morning the gauge read -21...you saw it right...-21 degrees. Wind chill -35 to -50 below. All schools closed and some are closing Tuesday too. But it is supposed to be in the low +30's on the weekend. Weird weather...maybe I can get the Wing out Saturday.

My kids lives about 2hrs south of here and he said they got hit with a mix of rain, sleet and snow last night. With no garage to park his car in he said its tire were frozen solid in the slush once the below zero temps hit last night.

I'm with you. My father lived in Florida and let me tell you, Florida in August sucks!! Much prefer the current -7F and heading further down tonight. Last year I used the snow blower exactly once, all the snow storms were the usual 3-4 inchers, but one day I felt lazy and used the snow blower.

I've had to use it three times in the last eighteen hours.  :'(

Ya that was some game Bob...fans are there for the team! Bob...how much snow did you get the other day? It missed us. We have only about 6-8 inches on the ground at most. I have not used the blower except a couple times so far.

-25 here in the morning...the truck started so I had to go to work.... :P  It wasn't a total loss....they had ordered pizza for everyone at the shop and had way too many so I took home a whole large sausage pepperoni pizza.  Pizza and beer tonite yaaaay. ;D

The house makes funny noises at nite and the deck makes cracking sounds when I walk across it in the morning at these temps.  Down the street a neighbors water main ruptured and water is gurgling up into the street...lucky up uphill so the ice slick is going the other way.

-18 at 6pm...one more nite into the deep freeze and then it's all uphill.

John, here's what's on the ground now. We only average about 50" total each winter, usually in 3-4" storms with melting between, etc. This season is off to a great start, we must have near half our annual total already and it's only Jan 6.  :-\ My little Toro blower is getting a work out. Last year I used it exactly once, I was lazy that day.  :)

Bob,
I grew up in South Lyon on Silver Lake, my parents still live there. Today my mom call it "good old fashioned Michigan cold".
For her to say that it has to be pretty chilly.
