CB 100 K2 Restoration
« on: January 03, 2014, 04:33:11 PM »
Hi guys,

Well, it looks like I will be getting a nice little CB100 next week. I will check it out first, haggle the price and bring it home.

What I want to know is if it is OK to post my progress here? I have noticed other CB singles here as well.

Here are some photos of the said bike, here in Brisbane, Australia.

Yes, of course. Good luck getting it and looking forward to updates.

Hi. Yes it does run. I will see it next week and bring it home. He wants $1500 but I will haggle a bit. I have no idea what these are worth restored either, so I will be careful on my expenses.

I'm thinking 1500 is high on that, I'm not even sure if I'd go 1500 if it was mint.

Do some home work, give it a good look over and then get an idea of part costs. for an example we can be pretty sure a mess hidden under that tape so lets look at that.

Shipping, duty + tax...

The prices here in Australia are higher for bikes than the US. For example, a nice K1 or K2 CB750 will bring $15,000 in good condition. A Restored low number Sandcast, $40k+

The CB100 is a little over priced here. It was on eBay twice, once for $1,100 and now for $1,500. So I think he wants too much with no bids. I think $1,000 to $1,200 will be a good price.

The exhaust is a new aftermarket item and the heat wrap is on from new. I will chase up a replacement pipe for it.

The pipe was just a example to get you to go over the bike and get an idea of what the real end cost will be.  ;)

Looks good!  I had one of these for a little while learning how to work on Engines.  Pretty basic but lots of fun.  1500$ SEEMS high, but if thats a good price overseas go for it!  The owner of my old one did a cafe build and he claims he pushed 80mph :)

 :'( :'(

Well, that is it. The purchase will not take place, so I will wait for another. Got my hope up but the cost is too high. Maybe later another will show. Bit of a shame.....

Keep looking and you'll find the right deal, I've been watching a few for over 8 months that still haven't sold. It's like they want to profit from you fixing it up later.  ::)
