77 550K carbs

Well lads I have a few questions about the carbs on my 550K. First of all I removed them and found the main jets were a little dirty and need cleaning. What I am not sure of is there is another brass tube with a hole in the end right by the main jet. This tube is stamped #42 which I am guessing is the low speed jet?. There is a small hole in the end and it resembles a jet but there isn't any slot or hex on it to remove it. I am sort of wondering if somewhere during its life if some one has changed the carbs. They are marked 46AAOH. The main jets are marked #90 . If any body can advise me wheather or not what I have described is the low speed jet and how its removed I would really appreciate it.

Yes this is the slow speed or pilot jet. It sits in a tapered hole so just grab it lightly with small vise grips and wiggle it out off that taper. Don't grab it too tight, but don't worry either about marring the outside of the jet. It has a very tiny orifice.
