Someone said I should post pictures and so... heres the donor. Painted side covers cuz I hated lookin at em.

Not sure how I can post all the things ive done to it already.
Thread repairs on every carb float bowl.
House hold lightswitched removed
Took of stock killswitch made my own killswitch/start panel (which was for experiementing and now I hate it)
Had to back the idle screws out a LOT to keep it
from bogging out of idle off choke.
 This p.o. cracks me up- one  red wheel. One ...silver lol
maybe if I took enough PCP id do this to a perfectly good bike myself.
I can ride it. It starts right up. Sounds good. No popping. Still need to sync after I get the accelerator pump to work right. I had a missing o ring in the ejector on the bowl. Leaked gas
everywhere till now. The damn thing runs better without an airbox on it... so im thinkin pods down the road since its hungry for em.

Lots of work ahead...and one big engine overhaul when I win the lotto lol
missing a few head cover bolts filled in with a blsck resin or something.
Theres gasket sealant adhesive on almost everything.
Questions, comments or insults anyone?

As.you can clearly see... I discovered DECKING screws and DRYWALL screws I  my CARBS.
this made me angry and I wish I could give the p.o. a $20 shot for doing this #$%*...
tapped out all holes.  Came up with two diff sizes but they are correct and metric baha. No gas leaks?? I thoughy fixing them might stop the leak... but then I discovered a missing oring on the accel. Pump. Ace hardware had one that fit perfectly for .49 cents.

I recently worked on one that had that exact same bowl screw assortment. Maybe Honda slipped a couple "custom" SOHC/4's in there!    

Orrrr.... I found a botched experiment from the same P.O. (or his brother) 


On a positive note, I have gotten quite proficient at the Helicoil repair of the float bowl screws.  I order the inserts by the dozen, since the PD carbs have twelve bowl screws. Haven't had to repair the threads below the accel pump crossover passage yet, and hope to never need to. I imagine it's only a matter of time though...

When I worked in a BSA/English bike shop, I found sheet metal screws, metric and SAE screws in Witworth or British Standard threads.  They did what ever it took to "fix" the bike.

So... its been quite interesting repairing all 12 holes on the carbs.
They are now clean, snug and secure.   i had to do some thread repairs before and used Heli coil brand. I found one called Powercoil that has a nice set up and better tools in the kit at the same price range or a little less. If I had to recommend a brand it would be Powercoil so far.
 Today im makin a small bracket to relocate my bulky keyswitch. Im gonna tak it onto the frame. Left side just below the front of the tank. Any other ignition ideas that dont involve the dash area???

You could buy a earlier generation frame mounted switch (from a K-K6 model) which is far less bulky, but you will need to weld a mount, since your F frame doesn't have one stock.

I have a k4 switch but it has four wires. The 77 f2 has more.  So im not sure ab the technicalities there.
I can weld. Making a custom bracket today to weld to frame. Will relocate this for now.
Ill have more room when I get the pods on the carbs.

Eliminating the parking light function (extra wires) from the original switch shouldn't present any issues other than no parking lights. Has anyone really used this function?! By the time you get back with a can of gas the battery is shot anyway. You'll lose the steering stem lock but that a non-problem too.

Doesn't really look like you'll need to do too much to it. Do you know what has been done to the engine? It's been out of the frame to get that silver head.

Jerry has a good point about the earlier ignition switch.  I've NEVER EVER used the parking light function on my K7, and if you wouldn't miss it if you were used to a K0-K7.  The bracket fitted on K-7-K6 bikes is an extremely simple loop with a hole for the switch, or you can weld on something similar.

The bike was layed down at some point. Theres some very minor bending on the right side corner of the heads. The valve cover head is missing two bolts and the holes r filled in with some blsck resin stuff.  The valve covers have what could be sealant under them all which is pretty concerning. Got a very slow oil leak under the head gasket. Between the silver and black underneath.  I do not like the silver persay... but I cannot afford what I need to tear her apart and rebuild correctly. Its running good for now after I took down those carbs and rebuilt them.
Im not too sure what will happen whenst I open said engine...

 But Im pretty sure... itll be interesting. And we'll all see it happen here first hand when the day comes.   I bought the bike to use for commute so I can get a job.  With money will come parts and ill rebuild it [the engine].

Sounds like sheared bolts filled with JB Weld. Good luck getting that cover apart... Have a drill handy and LOTS of aspirin. Not that removing the cover will be too difficult, but what you find beneath the cover will undoubtedly be a minefield of rigged, botched, and butchered fixes equal to Spearmint gum and bailing wire.

Best hope that bike runs really well until you can afford a lot of repairs... Or a spare engine that runs while you properly rebuild the one in the frame currently.

Couldnt find the keys to my k4 switch so I shaved the stock key switch down.
Bolts onto the switch mount I welded on. A little paint... and a wire extension.

I honestly cant find this thing anywhere to appraise it. But ive seen very similar go brand new for 70 bucks or so. Any body seen this nameless/markless can before?
