I like Sport bikes. Yup, I really do. You might not and that's OK.

The small Sport bike market has been hot for years. Yeah, 34% of 250 Ninjas are females and 40% of owners move up to a bigger bike. Strong market as shown by Kawasaki and Honda.

The new Ninja 300 has raised the bar. Big time over Honda. Even with Honda moving it to 300cc it still falls short.

While reading several, and I mean several articles I ran across KTM getting into this market for 2014. What? Really? Boy, I drooled over KTM bikes for years.  :)

Several models it appears from 125cc to 390cc. The early reports are 306 pounds, 43 hp for the rc390. Oh, I'm so there! Better talk with the Dealer and get a little down on one just in case they make it to the States.  :P

Well, this will turn into a forum slugfest I'm sure but small bikes are just plain fun. Small Sport bikes even more.

Any of you members overseas heard or saw anything yet? Terry? You are usually in the know.

mine motocross frinds dont like them...they drive suzuki/honda..so are prob not trosty

I'm not head over heels about modern sports bikes but that thing will drop panties. Probably still too tall for me though.

It's suppose to be in the Ninja range but I would think 6K. Just guessing. I'm going to call the Dealer in a few but I'm afraid they will say "huh?"

Thanks for the video LP.  8)

Here is what I know. Can not verify but in fact what I was told.

Manufactured in India. Being sold there first. Just hitting the Euro market. No release date in US as of yet. Could in fact be end of year.

The owner of the Shop was out of town returning tonight. He does the KTM ordering. Being a small dealer they might not even be offered any however if someone has a hold on one then they will for sure get one.

My name is in the system. Waiting on MSRP and if within what I want to spend will then leave a 1K deposit. I'm thinking they are going to be hard to get.

Will see.

I remember reading about KTM releasing a small cc motogp bike for the street. THATS something I'd like to get my hands on.

Supposedly a 125cc, 200cc and a 390cc.

My name is in the mix. Will see what MSRP will be next. If LP's video is close they mentioned 6000 euros. If my math is correct that's $8150 US. Can buy a Duke 690 around that price.

cool looking bike Danny...but I don't think the RE 500 is gonna make anywhere near 43hp, and is sure to be heavier too.  That KTM looks goooooood.

260lb and close to 60 hp.

KTM should get a good share of the learner market here in Ozzieland too

You're right Sean. I think the output is 27 or 28. But I had a ball with my even lower powered Enfield in 2006 and the big single sounded awesome. It would be a great 2 lane backroad bike where horsepower really doesn't matter.

Man if KTM keeps making streetbikes I think they're going to change things in a big way. I like these a lot more than the big 4 sport bikes. A lot cooler than the ninja/cbr 300.

The 2014 Ninja 300 has a lot going for it and gets superb reviews but America longs for something different. I think KTM has found it.

Light, agile bikes are where it's at. Mind you, I would prefer a little more displacement...500cc.

Love it!

Ninja 300 is on my super-short list. As much as I hate fuel injection, I rode that little tantrum and I LOVED it.
