Time to let the cat out of the bag.

I have been looking at new and some used bikes. Wanted something in the mid cc range. Love the new Yamaha FZ09 but hate the Dealer stealer fees and sales tax. Back to used. A couple of emails with Steve-o he said "buy a Ducati, I'll have one someday." Sure, easy for you to say. Check this link Steve-o. "Oh Boy, you better jump!"

I had to run the other half to a Doctor appointment 60 miles South of me. Had some time to kill before departure so I poured the last cup of java from the pot. Pulled up the Vegas CL ads and in the search box typed Ducati. Why? He!!, I don't really know. I have looked off and on but nothing flipped the switch for me. Price, miles, screw up's, damage, you know the drill.

This add stated: One owner Ducati 800 Monster SR2, bought new. 1462 original miles, garage kept. Includes Ducati Red Key, extra key, cover and rear stand. Asking xxxx or best offer.

What the heck. Call him for pictures. Out the door I go. Phone rings while driving and it's the seller. "Sent pics, did you get them?" Not home to look. "I'll text you a few." OK, Sounds good. "This is my wife's bike she bought new. We both work for Law Enforcement and with two kids, a gaggle of other bikes it just sits." With that mileage, yes it did.

"The big issue is she won't sell it to anyone who won't take care of it. The calls have been borderline idiots." Yeah, been there myself. "If you want to make a deal today I can bring it to you." Let me look at the small pictures on this crappy cell phone.

That was enough for me. Made a cash offer and now it's in the garage. Great people and a free speeding pass in Vegas. With 77 HP @ 381 pounds I'll need it.  ;D

Keep in mind I have yet to detail this bike. Pictures are from delivery. I uploaded directly to the site so you can expand pictures.

I love Rizoma products so a few items are down the road. I used Rizoma on my Busa back in the day.

Enjoy the 2006 Ducati Monster 800 SR2, female owned with 1462 on the clock.

I know I will!  ;)

I get a tingle down my leg every time I look at it!   :D

Just could not let this pass by. I think I would have regretted doing it.

Thanks guys. Now I have to figure out how to adjust the chain.  ::) It's a little loose.

Cleaning on this Sexy Girl and looked at the swing arm sticker. 30 to 32 mm play in center on stand.

Yup, it's OK. I need to order a Service Manual. Today.

Great addition, I absolutely love my 848evo!  I know you said the chain is fine, but they are super easy to adjust, just need a tool like this to do it.  http://www.motomfg.com/Chain_adjusting_tool_for_Ducati_p/ch-1.htm

If the seller didn't give you service records, you might want to have the timing belts looked at or replaced if its been sitting.  Man you are going to love that bike, congrats.

Have paper work just no time today to look at it. Had 600 mile service. Given the mileage it's been sitting.  :D

Tools, more tools. I need a good forum and a Service Manual. Tips?

It still needs waxed but used paint cleaner today.

Love it, just love it.

Sitting can be one of the worse things for the belts.  Here is a decent forum, http://www.ducati.org/ , but I dont spend much time there because I am always here.   ;)  The Duc crowd can be a bit temperamental and most don't seem to do there own work... ::)

Yes.  I have owned quite a few bikes, different styles and brands, but there is just something special about them, IMO.
