It's all new to me but if I'm not mistaken the 800 S2R already has a slipper clutch. It's a wet clutch where the 1000 is dry.
I'm working on the Service records now. Pat Clark did the 600 mile but after that not sure. The next is the 1000 timing belt tension. As discussed here and on the Monster Forum might as well change them and adjust using the 5mm hex key method.
New belts on the shelf but doing a lot of reading. Appears straight forward just make sure everything lines up, swap belts and torque it down.
Motul oil appears very clean in sight glass and was changed @ 960 miles. Has 1480 now. The issue here is it was done in February, 2009.
Don't want an oil thread so we will change that out also.
Ordered $100.00 worth of tools to work on her. No Dealer close, no truck, no trailer. It won't be a high mileage bike with the other rides so I'm not even concerned about the 7500 mile Service at this time.
The accessory options are endless huh? Rizoma red bars are way cool. LSL Carbon bars even sweeter.
About the only thing I might do are risers but still kicking that. Need to ride it more first.
My Hayabusa was scary fast also but 195 HP would be, well, scary. The S2R is perfect for me. Right size, light weight, Ducati Red, more fun than I can describe. I'm going to enjoy this motorcycle immensely.
Will Steve-O buy one? It's his fault I bought one.
