Bill's Dad He's HOME!!!!!!!
« on: January 13, 2014, 09:29:56 PM »
Hey all Bill's Wife here, as most you all know much about bill and his love for his dad. Tonight around 9pm or so we had to call 911 as his dad starting shaking uncontrollably and was disoriented and freezing cold, Got him to the hospital they did all the chest x-ray's and he has phemonia (spelling) in one of his lungs and they are going to keep him.. well his dad is a fighter I will say that.. they had to give him a shot 2 times to sedate him as he wanted NO part be being there as he had "other and better things to do" they ended up restraining him to the bed, So if you are of the praying type please pray for Bills dad and for Bill... He is not going to leave the hospital until his dad comes  home with his state of mind he is in and the "mean streak" he is in at the moment we don't see how he can be left alone. I feel really bad for his dad and bad for hubby Lord knows he is tired. and as far as his brother is concerned we learned he was next door when the ambulance showed up but we have his little red wagon fixed if he tries anything. Hospital AND sheriffs department is already on notification and knows his place is no where near his dad.  8) all that was done before his dad even got to the hospital!

Know everyone here is concerned about Bill's dad. Hopefully his condition will improve and will be able to go home soon. Keep us informed!

Not meaning to pry into personal family matters here, but what the #$%@ is Bill's brothers problem
It's bad the two can't come together at this time and support each other through this ordeal with their dad.

He is resting comfortably and sedated still.. only way his dad will rest period without trying to get out of there so to speak. going up to the hospital a little later to take Karla up there so she can see him.. I have to stay away out of the room.. can't take flu shot and don't want to risk making him any sicker than what he already is. AS far as his brother is concerned last time his dad was in the hospital and we let any of his brother's kids or his brother know anything know what was going on we got investigated by adult protective services and were not going to have to put up with it this time.. His brother just doesn't know when to stop and Bill did take a leap and semi trusted his 2 kids and let them see their grandfather and we got a whole lot of grief over it including his brother pounding on the back door (while Bill and I were gone to the hospital in little rock at the time with his dad) trying to get in... and of Course he didn't get in. Karla Told him off! She was not pulling any punches or playing his games. That's why we have to cover our bases this time.. his brother is stupid enough to know when not to stop... His brother also tried to put his dad in a nursing home some years back and take everything his dad had.. he was just going to leave his own father there to die.. that is another reason why we don't really trust his brother.. His brother will not ever change.

Best wishes to Bill and his dad.

Not to hijack your thread, but I too am going through some serious health isuses. Today the wife and I stopped by the bank to add her to my various accounts, first time in over 50 years I have ever accepted someone else be able to sign for me. There is no way I want any of my brothers or sisters to have any say in my end of life, that chore belongs only to my wife and daughters, god bless them.

not a problem.. we will add you and your family to our prayer list, Just keep us updated. Wishing you the best.

Talked to the hubby, His dad's white blood cell count is rather on the high side most likely due to the pheonionia (again spelling) and the night nurse came in and let Hubby know that his dad got up around 4am and pulled everything lose so the sedated him again for the 3rd time since him being there. That is not like his dad at all and his o2 levels were really low even though he is on 2.5 liters o2 at home. his legs were of a reddish purple color they returned back to a normal color only assuming the hospital uppered the o2 levels and the breathing treatments. his coughing has gotten a lot better and not as bad as it was before. I will keep all posted as I get more info. And Bill says Thanks for the support it really means a lot to him, When he can gets home he will make the final update. Till then I will update tomorrow when we know more, if there is any more to report back.

Hello all, haven't been near a computer, since having to have my Dad transportedto the ER and I want to thank my Wife Michelle for letting you all know wjat was happening with my Dad. I Deeply appreciate the support that you all have given me and my family, in our times of need. It has been Awesome, the way you all support a brother OR sister in need. Still at the hospital. Dad is doing some better. Be awhile yet before we get to go home. I am using my android phone to do this, so please bear with the spelling or wjatever I might miss. Michelle or I will be in touch.  Thanks again folks

Biil, you and your father are in my family's thought, 24-7. My own father is still alive and kicking, abet a bit slower, but I get a big kick out of seeing and talking to him. Several times we have had the "talk" and all I ever say to him is it's your responsibility to spend all you have earned, not any of your children.

Ask the nurses if they will take off the restraints while under the close watch of Bill, that will help his father relax, maybe.

My brothers relieved my watch one Friday afternoon and then took off. nurses said dad pulled his iv out 9 times,  He spent most the rest of his days wearing himself out struggling against restraints.

I would get them to untie him  them, but you've got to watch him. My dad played drowsy and nodding out  and I when  turned my back to go in the restroom he sprung into action pulling on his iv's but I caught him. He was sneaky.

I sure wish for Bill's dad to make it back home instead of any more time  in one of those hospitals.

The last time I was hospitalized I told the nurses flat out, there is nothing you can do to stop me if I want something to eat or drink That's not on the hospital menu, afterall, I have my credit cards, cell phone, and lap top.   8)

They do have the restraints off.. they took them off when they put him in his room.. when he starts to pull out his iv's and starts to try to walk out they sedate him.. He is doing better, he is back to cheerful self sleepy from all the breathing treatments.. They don't have him on any solid foods yet so it looks like they are going to be there another week or so. He is having a hard time swallowing his pills right now.. most likely due to the illness. They had a wound specialist look at his arm where he had fallen in the bathroom back in September and its taking a very long time to heal but the wound specialist said that what ever we are doing is working. His dad is a diabetic so its good to know it is healing and what we are doing is working. More updates to come when we have any. I agree Faux I sure wish they were both home, I would rather have them both home then them having to sit there at the hospital. But what ever it takes for his father to get well to get him home back to his chair and his tv shows and his own bed.

One of my Dad's doctors called that stuff Michael Jackson Juice. I thought that was kind of a lack of bedside manner, but I guess I just wasn't in a humor mood at the time.  I'm  pretty  sure that Dad got more medicine that he would have wished for,  but whoever was supposed to have his advanced directive or DNR didn't so he got the full treatment.  When he came to he kept pointing at the hose as if to say get this Eucking  tube out of my throat so I can tell you to get this Eucking tube out of my throat. Puffed him full of air for several days. Sure wish he'd have come home.

his dad is still there, the phenonia is almost gone.. he didn't sleep at all the other night he was constantally getting up out of the bed to "use the bathroom" and playing with the buttons on the bed many other things to keep himself up, anything the hospital tried to give him to help him rest would not work. So they finally found something that helped his dad sleep last night about 10 his dad Finally got sleep and so did hubby. His dad is still sleeping and resting and the hospital is making sure that he is not disturbed until he wakes up on his own so maybe he can mentally reboot. They are talking about maybe his dad coming home on Monday. The Doctor knows NOT to say the words going home in front of his dad now until he is actually going home because last time a doc said something about going home he was getting up out of that bed trying to leave. When his dad gets home the will be doing PT and nursing and that should help his dad out as well. If I have anymore info I will post later. But at least it looks like in 2 days his dad will be home.  8)

Update: Bill's dad's release date is Friday.. They want to do more pt with him and they had give him new antibiotics for an infection under the skin so 3 more days and his dad should be coming home.. he is going to have to go back on thickener in his drinks and he is going to have to go back on a water pill..  He is starting to cough the stuff up now and that is a good thing so is just about over his phenomonia (again spelling) and nursing will be out 3 days a week with him.. looking forward to having hubby and his dad home on Friday  8).

Thanks!! I have had the hardest time spelling that stinking word lol! When I asked hubby today I thought I was going pass out 2 weeks is a long time but what ever it takes to make his dad better. Will be glad when they are both home!! I think I have seen hubby a total of 3 times in a week in a half's time.. It was so good to see him for a couple hours today.. Be looking forward to Friday! When they BOTH are home and resting! Bill is wore out and I plan on pampering him when he gets home and taking over on taking care of his dad when the nursing staff is not here for a while and give him a much needed break when my daughter is not in cheer competition.  ;D
