16 x 3 but not drop center
« on: January 18, 2014, 01:10:54 PM »
I recently built a 16 inch rear wheel for my CB750K8 using a CB hub and a Harley drop center rim. I love it so I'm want to build another. I recently saw that there is another 40 hole 16 x 3 rim available from a Harley, but a front wheel. Instead of the drop center, there is a smooth, fender like shape. They are really cool. Has anybody seen/use these?
What am I doing and why am I doing it? Those are excellent questions.

They make a 16x4 too. I wonder if a 16x5 could be fit into a CB.

I believe the rim cross section looks like this, spokes shown exiting the top of crude depiction..
