Only buy TEC brand points, period.
TEC= Toyo electronics company.

contrary to popular belief around here they are perfectly useable.  I have been using them for years and I put more miles than most on my bike....you will have to dick around with them a lot more to get timing set and they don't last nearly as long.  I really only use them because they are cheap and conveniently available locally.   If you are not a cheap, lazy bastard, find a set of TEC points.

I'm surprised one model fits the 350/400 and the 500/550 alike. Is this possible?

Plus a lot of others including Suzukis.
When I owned a Kawa triple I discovered the points from some Mitsubishi car where identical. The car points were a third the price compared to Kawasaki.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I discovered the same practice in marine diesels. There's a different name on the engine (Vetus, Solé, whatever), but it is often a marinized Mitsubishi and parts can be had a lot cheaper through the cardealer.

Your local Honda MC parts counter should be able to do that for you, when I ordereda new "Honda" points plate it was TEC which was oem.
