Replacement Choke Cable
« on: November 05, 2008, 06:56:34 AM »
Hey guys,
My 81 Cb650 choke cable is broken, do I HAVE to get an 650 cable or will a 750 work? And would the year matter? It seems like a simple cable. Thanks!

Choke?
I've rigged other setups to replace the buggered choke cable. I used a friction shift unit off a old 10 speed bike.
It worked, but I had to engineer a widget for the choke lever on the carbs as well.
You can make anything work with enough desperation and lack of $$.
need the mother of invention...

Other than rigging something something up, not too sure.
I have not had experience with the DOHC750/900/1100's, but they may have had a similar choke setup.

Do any SOHC 750 carbs racks have a choke cable? Mabey the later '77/'78 motors with the pumper carbs?

The only examples of SOHC 750 carbs I have seen are mid 70's and they all had a choke lever on the side of the carbs, so no cable at all.
