Needing a 750a vacuum solenoid and check valve
« on: January 22, 2014, 05:37:47 PM »
Hondamatic owners,

I am looking for a vacuum solenoid and check valve for my hondamatic 750.  These items are mounted on the carb next to #2 carb.  Thank you - I appreciate it!  Jose ;)

Honda owner's .  FYI I found this cool slavage yard in SC about a year ago, the owner's name is Roger, and he is very helpful and he is going to check on the solenoid for me. Please take a look at his salvage yard if you are in needs of parts at a very reasonable price.  Thank you and enjoy the tour! ;)

I was just digging through a "Standard Engine Management" brand parts book at the shop, looking at neutral safety switches for a replacement park brake switch, and I remember seeing vac solenoids in there.  Pretty small ones by the look of them. May want to run to an auto parts store that still has the old fashioned BOOKS, not just computers for parts look-up, and see what you can find. I'll try to remember to look through there the next time I'm at the shop as well.

As for the check valve, that should be pretty easy to come across. I've seen lots of those on older Toyota cars. Also check "Dorman"
"HELP" application books for those, I've seen them there before.

May save a couple dimes making something work that's off-the-shelf. God knows what a yard might charge, and parts are getting scarce.

Just as a side note to anyone looking for a replacement vac diaphram/actuator (the part that actually moves the throttle linkage), I remember YEARS ago reading somewhere that guys had used an easily obtained actuator from an older Chrysler or Dodge car - a "K" car if memory serves.
