Carpy's Cafe Racers WTF??!!
« on: January 23, 2014, 12:24:02 PM »
I just got some spam that was sent to me by Carpy's Cafe Racers pimping men's clothes. Nice job guys, now I wonder who else has my info because of their bad data security?

It was this, from "Steve Carpenter"

Hi Nils,

Wait until you see how they've made shopping easy for men. They have really cool threads I think you'd love, under $50.

Since I invited you, you'll get $25 just for signing up.

Take a look at their collection. Registration will take you seriously less than 10 seconds. :)
EDIT - Removed the link

Do not go to that website, that is a way to infect your computer.
Recently an ad running on Yahoo's main page did the same thing.

That sounds like scaremongering. Google them and see if there any reports about malicious software.
The problem is having to register with them to view their products. If you are wise then you just pass these sites by.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I received the same email... deleted it. Then googled the company name just to see if it seemed legit. Not interested either way.

I'm gonna guess some hacker cracked into their broadcast email service to send their spam. I send a note to Carpy's with a copy.

Bad hygiene on their part.

Update: Steve Carpenter (aka "Carpy") was blissfully unaware this had happenned as you might guess, I suggested that he remedy the situation, and that's the last I heard.
