I'd totally grind off all unnecessary tabs, open up the triangle, put on some pods, a fatter tire, some checker board stickers, speed holes in everything and throw some clubmans on it. Cafe style, just like the rockers in England!

One chance to pre-order because they won't have another chance after they go broke for dumping their money into that ridiculous machine.
Who on earth are those marketed toward ?  Just plain silly.

Crowded cities like Tokyo, London and the like, the cities with a congestion tax, I can see this type of transport being mandatory in some places in the near future, look at the massive pollution problems in China, they already have a scheme where you can exchange plastic bottles for discounted subway tickets. I saw a 2 wheeled bike car hybrid on TV last week, it had 2 or 3 gyro's built into it and stood up by itself.... :o  Sh1ts getting weird.... ;D

There is no merit to a stupid thing like this.....

Getting around congestion pricing? Bicycle

10 Mile Range, 10 MPH? Bicycle can do way better.

Old people too frail to ride a bike? They're certainly not going to ride this thing!

Bicycle is definitely lighter and easier to bring on mass transit.

Bicycle costs way less.

Bicycle is easier to maintain.

Got people fat and lazy, so now there are stair steppers in gyms. This bike? Is the next step in a natural progression. Now they can make a bicycle exercise machine.

There are plenty of people that would be willing to have one, as far as i know, the city folk most likely to use these have plenty of money, in Brisbane they have just allowed segways to be part of the cities transport mode for similar reasons, you go a long way in most cities with a 10 mile range then all you do is plug it in....

It's still twice as many wheels and you stand on it. I'd like to see that other thing go over some tree roots and rocks.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I don't need no stupid stair steppers. I run up escalators that are going down just to watch the fat pigs stare in amazement!
I am closer to 60 than 50 and THEY SHOULD be so healthy themselves!

That thing is just a law suit waiting to happen.
It's 160lbs. who wants to lug that noise up the stairs and into the apartment?
And who wants to look like that anyways? Yeah, I can see pullin up to the gym with one of those.
Imagine all those old farts around the mall riding that Sh# t, and no doubt , somebody will take the escalator.... Even better , these will replace those 4 wheel carts that those hefty hefty ladies bomb around walmart in. can you imagine the back view of that? or an isle full of them?
The motion sensor only works front to back not side to side..clean up in isle 5...Hospitals  loaded up with knee and wrist injuries... Half of LA wearing casts on one side
Youtube stock will be the new gold standard.
And the last rider in the clip... you can't look cool riding one of these. Looks like he was being closely followed by a sport bike and he stopped short.
    Stupid. But funny.

That hummer/segway picture is a contadiction in itself. Like escalators going into a gymnasium, doesn't make any sense but sells in todays world because the art of thinking has been lost.

I'm into control systems, so the segway impresses me in how they've got the stability sorted out. I've seen the videos on it & they are pretty cool. I can see it might have a place, but can't say its for me. Might be a cool runaround for an office though.

The bicycle is about the most efficient machine you will ever find, kalorie per mile. I don't think it can be beat in that respect. History will tell us whether the segway stands the test of time. If it works and has a place, it'll stay around for a while, if not, just another passing fad.

I could never understand bicycle exercise machines. I see heaps of them on the side of the road. People must get all excited, buy them, ride them a hand full of times, then back on the roadside they go. Why don't they just get on a real bicycle and got for a ride and get to see some real scenery? and let a bit of wind hit their face?

Whats wrong with 8 track cartidge players ... ?   :P

I can't fathom any insurance company selling the manufacturer any type of liability coverage.

Why.? Segways and motorcycles can be insured, what makes you think they are so unsafe..?I read an article not long ago that said that if motorcycles had been invented recently they would be banned from using the roads.

Not the end user, the manufacturer can be held liable for selling an inherently unsafe product.

Just how long do you think it will be before some fool fly's over a speed bump and gets thrown from the uni-bike and does a full face plant? Lawyers love products like this.....

It depends if its stated in the user manual. I heard of a case (in America) where an owner of a campervan decided to put his car on cruise control, then go out the back (leaving his drivers seat). Obviously he crashed. I heard then that he went to court against the car manufacturer and won, because the manufacturer did not incorporate enough stupidity clauses in their user manual for people like this.

The driver thought that 'cruise control' meant that the car would do everything for him.

I'll have to dig this one up, its a beauty.

So if they say "Segway at your own risk" - (& preserve nature and always wear a helmet), they'll probably be ok.

[UPDATE] - Found it fellas, its at the bottom of this page titled "Idiot sues Winnebago after cruise control accident"

Clause - Upon crashing, clean up after your own mess.
