That hummer/segway picture is a contadiction in itself. Like escalators going into a gymnasium, doesn't make any sense but sells in todays world because the art of thinking has been lost.
I'm into control systems, so the segway impresses me in how they've got the stability sorted out. I've seen the videos on it & they are pretty cool. I can see it might have a place, but can't say its for me. Might be a cool runaround for an office though.
The bicycle is about the most efficient machine you will ever find, kalorie per mile. I don't think it can be beat in that respect. History will tell us whether the segway stands the test of time. If it works and has a place, it'll stay around for a while, if not, just another passing fad.
I could never understand bicycle exercise machines. I see heaps of them on the side of the road. People must get all excited, buy them, ride them a hand full of times, then back on the roadside they go. Why don't they just get on a real bicycle and got for a ride and get to see some real scenery? and let a bit of wind hit their face?
