Carb Air screws at different heights (CB750 round top carbs)

Round top carbs

I was just working on my carbs and noticed that when the air screws are seated all the way in that they don't all sit evenly at the same heights. In other words a screw in one carb might not screw in and seat as far as it does in one of the other carbs. I assume this is just from previous owners being heavy handed when adjusting the screws. What I am wondering is should these be adjusted all the same? Screw them in until they are lightly seated then adjust them out accordingly?

Any insight is helpful.
Thanks.

I have read post with pictures of what you are talking about. I would look to see if some are oem and some are after market. I would try to get all of them the same. PO probably used what ever he had at the time but they may work fine the way they are. Adjust them all the same no matter if it is short or tall. All the way in to a gentle seat and back out to what the manual calls for and see how it runs.

I should have stated that all the screw are exactly the same size and shape. Identical.

Sorry I haven't taken a picture of it. Just something I wondered about after tinkering with things. I suppose I could try and take one later.

Check the compressed length of the springs. I've noticed that they vary depending on the supplier.
