AP pistons?
« on: February 05, 2014, 01:52:08 pm »
Hi, Gurus! I've got a motor here with domed pistons (they measure for 810 and look about 10.25:1) that are marked "AP" in the recessed area on the sides. They're still attached to the rods and crank so I can't look inside them. Does anybody know who the maker was? Thanks in advance. RR

Thanks, PeWe. I actually did a search for "AP Pistons" and came up dry except for one posting that didn't help.

Looks like you have the "Search Power", Grasshopper. RR

When I read an interesting question, I have to know!
But, it still not 100% sure. It would be nice with a NOS kit for sale, photos with AP stamped.
Let's hope that guys here with those in their garage will tell :)

Yeah, me too, PeWe. I guess I'm also an information junkie (as well as a "parts whore" as my buddy says). I've got a bunch of CB750 motors sitting on rollers below my storage shelves and I decided to take a closer look at them since I hadn't in several years. That's when I saw the AP pistons and became curious as to the manufacturer. Maybe one of these days I'll use them; maybe not. At my age, who knows...

Anyway, you helped my search. Thanks again! RR
